While each instructor brings unique experience and expertise, we all share the same passion for creating a positive, encouraging environment where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired to become their very best.
McKenzie
Jones
Owner
McKenzie Jones has over 15 years of teaching and choreography experience and has created award-winning choreography for high schools, studios, and more than 60 competitive solos. She trained with the nationally recognized Bingham High School Dance Company, continued her dance education at Utah Valley University, served as Head Coach of the Lehi High School Drill Team, and has performed in Tuacahn's Thriller production.
As the owner of Edge Dance, McKenzie is passionate about creating a studio where dancers feel valued, challenged, and inspired to grow. She believes dance is more than what happens at the Studio, it's about building confidence, character, friendships, and memories that last a lifetime.
Cassidee
Edmunds
Creative Director
Cassidee has been dancing since before she could walk and has over 20 years of teaching experience. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet from Brigham Young University after studying both ballet and modern dance and has trained with renowned programs including the Joffrey Ballet School and American Ballet Theatre.
Cassidee is passionate about helping dancers build strong technique, confidence, and a lifelong love of dance in a positive, encouraging environment. Whether she's teaching tiny dancers or advanced students, she strives to make every class challenging, inspiring, and fun.
Outside of the studio, Cassidee loves all things Disney, chips and salsa, spending time outdoors, and making memories with her husband and their four kids.
Britney
Guthrie
Instructor / Combo Director
Britney has over 20 years of experience as a dance educator, choreographer, judge and semi pro coach. She is passionate about helping dancers of all ages grow in both technique and confidence. Britney has taught various styles such as jazz, ballet, tap, contemporary, technique and Pom.
As an active adjudicator and a member of the Utah Dance Judge Association since 2008, she brings valuable industry insight to every class.
Britney is excited to inspire, challenge, and encourage each student to reach their full potential while fostering a love for dance.
Kylie
Stokes
Elite Teams
Kylie holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and Marketing from Utah Valley University. A lifelong dancer, she trained at Broadway Dance Academy and Progressions Dance Academy before continuing her education at renowned studios including The Edge, Millennium Dance Complex, and with the Radio City Rockettes. She also appeared as a dancer in High School Musical 3.
With over 10 years of teaching and directing experience, Kylie has created award-winning choreography while helping dancers build confidence, strength, and artistry. She is passionate about sharing her love of dance and inspiring the next generation of performers at Edge Dance.
Michelle Merrell
Pointe & Ballet Instructor
Michelle Merrell has over 20 years of ballet teaching experience and is entering her 11th season with Edge Dance. She trained at Academy of Ballet Arts and the Ballet West Conservatory before earning her BFA in Dance from the University of Utah, where she performed principal roles with Utah Ballet, including Kitri in Don Quixote. She also appeared as a guest artist with Mountain West Ballet and Aspen Santa Fe Ballet's The Nutcracker.
Michelle is passionate about making ballet accessible to every dancer. She focuses on building strong technique, artistry, and confidence while creating a safe, encouraging environment for students to learn and grow. Outside the studio, she is a mom of three who enjoys hiking, chocolate, and a good scary movie.
Shelby
Day
Instructor
Shelby has been dancing for as long as she can remember, with training in ballet, jazz, and lyrical, though jazz has always been her favorite style. She has been teaching at Edge Dance for the past three years, sharing her passion for dance with students of all ages.
Shelby teaches the studio's youngest dancers in the mornings and spends her afternoons leading competition teams and technique classes. She is passionate about helping every dancer learn, grow, and develop confidence while creating a fun, positive experience in the studio.
Kaylie
Olsen
Front Desk / Instructor
Kaylie Olsen grew up in Washington, Utah, and began dancing at age 12. She trained as a competitive dancer in ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and contemporary before dancing on her high school dance team for four years, serving as captain her senior year.
While earning her Bachelor of Science in English and Secondary Education, Kaylie began teaching and coaching dance. In addition to her career as an educator, she is a member of the Front Desk team at Edge Dance, where she enjoys supporting dancers and their families while sharing her lifelong passion for dance.
Rachelle Fabrizio
Instructor
Rachelle brings over 12 years of dance teaching experience. She was captain of her high school drill team, served as Assistant Choreographer for the Juab Fine Arts Council, and has performed at venues including Real Salt Lake and Stadium of Fire.
A Dance Sterling Scholar at Juab High School, Rachelle earned a full-ride scholarship to Utah Valley University, where she majored in Dance, minored in Theatre, and earned her Associate of Arts degree.
After teaching for 10 years in Utah County, she joined Desert Edge Dance in St. George two years ago. Rachelle is passionate about helping dancers build strong technique, confidence, and a love for dance in a positive, encouraging environment.
Rhea
Miller
Front Desk
Rhea Miller, a St. George native, serves on the Front Desk Staff at Edge Dance and is a Part-Time Voice Professor at Utah Tech University. She specializes in vocal performance, audition preparation, musical theatre, opera, and recital techniques, helping students prepare for university music programs, competitions, and professional performances.
Rhea is also the Artistic Director of St. George Opera, where she directs and music directs both mainstage and educational productions. She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts from Arizona State University in 2016 and previously served as a Teaching Artist with Arizona Opera. As a professional soprano, she has performed with opera companies and symphonies throughout the United States and Europe.
Kaiya
Mortensen
Front Desk / Instructor
At 22 years old, she brings a lifelong passion for dance to every class. She trained with Ballet West in Salt Lake City, where she built a strong technical foundation and developed a love for teaching. Through Ballet West's Movement Mentor program, she taught the fundamentals of dance to youth with disabilities, an experience that deepened her passion for making dance accessible to everyone.
She is committed to creating a positive, encouraging environment where every dancer can build confidence, develop strong technique, and enjoy the art of dance.
